I was sharpening a vegetable chopper the other day (as you do) and I carried on grinding one side to see what happened. What happened was that I got a huge burr – so large I could see it and it started peeling off the edge. I thought I’d show you a photo so you can understand what a burr is – A burr is the secret to using whetstones properly!
